  • Andrea Cabañas

I am a published author with an extensive career as a producer in the entertainment industry. It was while working on Brazilian telenovelas when I discovered my passion for screenwriting. I have lived in Brisbane, Australia, with my cherished husband since 2007. While writing my second fiction novel Sonata for You, I developed compelling scripts and more projects for an audience with a thirst for innovation and diversity."

What I love about GIMX is the fact that 'you are not alone' (Erman Baradi's words!). Programs like Group Coaching and monthly script breakdowns are great incentives not only to improve our screenplays but also keep in contact with industry pros.

  • Alex Moreno

Although quite famous in the medical field (how many other people do you know have been honored in Congress - 112th Congressional Record- Vol 180), Alex’s real passion is writing, especially when it can evoke social change or at least bring focus to sensitive issues.

Drawing on experience from his mentors (Howard Rosenman, Anthony Basgallop, David Frankel etc.) Alex’s creed is to pay it forward for fellow and newbie writers.

No matter how many plates he is spinning, he always makes time for other writers and hopes to excel in a unique program such as GIMx.

  • Boomer Murrhee

A US Army veteran, I’ve studied screenwriting for over the past ten years. I leverage my military service and past role as a mental health therapist to write about loyalty and personal moral codes that come into question.

My first experience with Get It Made began onset in Atlanta. I noticed the high knowledge and technical skills associated with shooting a film. I enjoyed collaborating with professionals on set.

Since joining GIMx, my writing skills have been tested and expanded. The art of condensing complete scripts into Proofs of Concepts was initially daunting. With the materials and support provided by Matt/Sylvie and the staff, my writing has improved SIGNIFICANTLY. I have joined a team of professionals who have a collaborative part to play in getting a film made.

I also enjoy paying it forward in helping other writers in this community hone their craft and expand their filmmaking knowledge. I am forever grateful for being on this journey within the GIMx community.

  • David Rasch

I have been writing scripts for the past few years - an interest that evolved organically from writing songs and short stories. I have a related background as a psychologist specializing in work with writers having productivity problems and have published a book on the topic - The Blocked Writer's Book of the Dead. For better or worse, scriptwriting has now gripped my imagination, despite the demoralizing statistics about how few scripts ever get produced.

I feel fortunate to have connected with the Get it Made X program because I’ve now rewritten, several proof of concept scripts and have one project, “Cravings” that went through Fast Track and is now a completed PoC Film.

The process of working with Matt and his team in developing the script, planning and executing the shoot, and participating in post-production has been an excellent education and shifted my approach to writing as well.

I am excited to be working with the team from Cravings to develop a full-length feature script of the project.

My wife and I live in Ojai, California, and I also work as an ombud at UCSB doing conflict resolution and mediation with faculty, staff and students.
